Testimonial 1

I was referred to Ave by a friend after an accident left me with a head injury and I just didn’t feel quite right.  My speech was affected for about 6 months & my thoughts were all scrambled.  I preserved along after the accident for a year trying to make myself feel better but I really just became angry and unmotivated in everyday life.

I am soon to have my final session with Ave and I can’t believe how fast the last 6 months have flown by.  Ave has help me focus on some little things each fortnight to make me feel better overall.

I felt very unmotivated and unclear in my thoughts when I first started with her.  I couldn’t even be bothered making the bed each morning which is so unlike me from years of practice at boarding school.

She helped me to set goals and held me accountable to them.  From cooking better food for the family a few nights a week instead of being lazy and just getting takeaways, going to bed earlier instead of staying up and watching mind numbing TV and her awesome support got me out running too. I can now run 5km.

Ave has helped me concentrate on myself and in turn I am less grumpy at the kids and things don’t faze me as much as they used to.

I feel like I have got my mojo back since my accident and I am so thankful a friend put me on to Coach Me Healthy.

Testimonial 2

Having had 3 children, recently moving into a new area and leaving work to be a full time Mum, adjustment to these changes proved difficult. Within the context of this and other areas of my life I found myself eating a large block of chocolate a day (at a minimum) for near on a year and I wasn’t doing as much exercise wise as I would have liked. The results of this combination meant I wasn’t very pleasant to live with, had massive mood swings (both of the aforementioned hubby would vouch for), wasn't very tolerant with my children and I wasn't fitting my current wardrobe. Would be fair to say I was pretty down on myself.

Knowing there needed to be change and that after numerous attempts I was struggling to make change on my own, I considered my options. I wanted a holistic approach, someone to listen non-judgmentally, offer advice, challenge my thinking, hold me accountable and with a knowledge of nutrition/physical health to help assist in decreasing my disordered eating habits.

Ave ticks all of these boxes and more. She has created hope for me that things can be different! Her sessions are relaxed, thoughtful and sensitive, making me feel at ease to talk about anything and everything! She has made me realise that its important and ok to priortise my own health (something that’s not always easy as a Mum) and the goals she helps me to set are achievable and relevant; and make a difference! She is supportive and encouraging which in turn has helped with my motivation and ability to follow through on my goals.

In just 8 weeks I have increased my activity levels, my relationships are improving, I am finding a balance with my eating and am generally feeling more positive. I feel like she with me 100% on my journey, there to celebrate my successes and also to cheer me on during the tough times - very empowering! Totally life changing and what’s even more cool is I get to see her again next week to ensure I keep working towards making these positive changes more permanent :)
